IIBA and the Profession

IIBA^® is the internationally recognized professional association for the growing field of Business Analysis. This independent non-profit organization was formed in October 2003 with 28 founding members from eight countries. Today, IIBA^® serves the educational and professional needs of thousands of members worldwide.

IIBA^® has developed and maintains the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge^® (BABOK^®) which outlines the generally accepted standards and practices for this industry. The organization is also the first to formally recognize the knowledge and expertise of Business Analysts by creating the Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP^®) designation. This certification is a dependable performance benchmark for BAs that is becoming a standard for hiring throughout the business community.
